To establish new contacts and initiate collaborative projects, representatives of the MOLIT Institute for Personalized Medicine—Prof. Dr. Christian Fegeler, Dr. Stefan Sigle, and Alicia Samlowski, M.Sc.—visited the Fundación Arturo López Pérez (FALP) in Santiago de Chile.
The visit was hosted by FALP’s Department of Medical Informatics and Data Science as part of its international cooperation efforts between centers of excellence in innovation and digital health.

The meeting included Cristian Ayala, MBA (CEO of FALP), Dr. Inti Paredes (Chief Medical Officer), Marcela Aguirre, M.Sc. (Project Manager), and members of FALP’s Cancer Research and Medical Informatics & Data Science Unit.
The visit featured valuable exchanges on ongoing and future projects, discussions on collaboration, and a tour of the FALP facilities.
Prof. Dr. Fegeler emphasized FALP’s strong achievements in cancer research and stressed the importance of global data and knowledge exchange:
“Both our organizations share a similar mission—improving oncological care for people. We must not be limited by borders. Countries around the world should build sustainable cooperation networks to generate molecular biology data and research outcomes that lead to a better future for all.”
Dr. Inti Paredes, Chief Medical Officer of the Department of Medical Informatics and Data Science at FALP, commented on the visit:
“It was a true pleasure to host the MOLIT team at FALP. The visit allowed us to exchange ideas, projects, and challenges, resulting in an enriching experience for both sides.
Over the course of two days, we realized how much our values and goals align. The focus was on how to bring the results of basic science closer to patient care and to find ways to share knowledge and anonymized data openly and transparently—for the benefit of cancer patients and the long-term advancement of healthcare systems.”
