MOLIT at GMDS 2023 in Heilbronn

This year’s Annual Meeting of the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) took place in Heilbronn. From Sunday (September 17) to Thursday (September 21), the medical informatics community gathered at the Heilbronn Education Campus.

The MOLIT Institute contributed several presentations:
In the area of Registries & Cancer CareC. Beutter presented her work on “Lessons learned of a patient-centered development of an app for measuring Quality of Life in oncology”.
In the area of Image & Signal ProcessingM. Lingg presented the contribution “Challenge of detecting personal deviations and trends in sensor-based activity data” (doi.org/10.3233/SHTI230711).

Another major focus was the special session Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Decision Support (AI4CDS), chaired by Dr. S. Sigle and Prof. Dr. C. Fegeler, where ongoing international projects at the intersection of AI and clinical decision support were presented.

In addition to MOLIT’s internal Knowledge Management working group, two student groups from Chile (Group 1: K. Ramos, I. Romero; Group 2: A. Carvajal, D. Gonzalez, N. Gomez) contributed to the program, as well as a guest presentation by J. Gehrmann from the Institute for Biomedical Informatics at University Hospital Cologne.

The special session was well attended, and the discussions that followed significantly contributed to the networking of young researchers.
